Career Preferences: Found that 70% of students aspire to just 7 out of 21 career clusters, with Government & Defence, Medical Sciences, and Business Management as top choices.

Critical Gaps: Only 10% of students have access to structured career counselling; 90% lack awareness of course costs, and 78% don’t have a backup career plan.

Gender Divide: Female students reported lower confidence and restricted choices due to societal and family pressures compared to male students.

Recommends embedding career guidance in school curricula, strengthening digital access, and supporting underrepresented groups.

Introduce structured career guidance programs from Grade 9 onward, with activities on self-awareness, counselling, and exposure to diverse career options.

Improve digital infrastructure so that students, especially in rural areas, can benefit from online career tools and emerging opportunities in the digital economy.

Provide gender-responsive counselling, engage parents and teachers, and offer financial planning tools to help female and rural students overcome barriers.
